What you will do:
As a Staff Data Scientist at Walmart Global Tech India, you will have the following responsibilities:
> Build data-driven products across the Real Estate and IoT division by leading Data Science design, algorithm development, ML solution implementation, and deployment.
> Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product managers to lead advanced machine learning algorithms at Walmart scale.
> Develop advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, optimization techniques, and computational algorithms based on business initiatives to drive data-derived insights.
> Gather, assess, and synthesize data into large analytics datasets to support project goals.
> Utilize big data analytics and advanced data science techniques to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies in data, and determine additional data needed to support insights.
> Build and train statistical models and machine learning algorithms for replication in future projects.
> Communicate recommendations to business partners and influence plans based on insights.
> Proactively plan and manage projects, anticipate product integration, drive thought leadership, and contribute to the organization’s strategic upskilling and growth.
What you will bring:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
> A Bachelor’s degree with more than 12 years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree with more than 10 years of relevant experience OR a PhD with more than 7 years of relevant experience, in fields such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Machine Learning, or related fields.
> Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures, coding, ML system, and deployment architecture design.
> Experience in analyzing complex problems and translating them into data science algorithms.
> Experience in end-to-end implementation, productionization, and scaling of Machine Learning algorithms.
> Experience in machine learning, both supervised and unsupervised, including Forecasting, Classification, Data/Text Mining, NLP, Decision Trees, > Adaptive Decision Algorithms, Random Forest, Search Algorithms, Neural Networks, and Deep Learning Algorithms.
> Experience in statistical learning, including Predictive & Prescriptive Analytics, Web Analytics, Parametric and Non-parametric models, Regression, Time Series, Dynamic/Causal Model, Statistical Learning, Guided Decisions, and Topic Modeling.
> Experience with Optimization techniques, including linear programming, integer programming, genetic algorithms, and constrained optimization.
> Experience with big data analytics, including identifying trends, patterns, and outliers in large volumes of data.
> Strong hands-on experience with Python.
> Strong hands-on experience with ML products like Databricks, Azure ML, Alteryx.
> Strong hands-on experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Pig, HQL, Scala, Spark, and Scala.
> Experience with data visualization tools such as R-Shiny, Tableau, PowerBI.
> Experience with Teradata, SQL, relational databases, and data warehousing.
> Familiarity with at least one of the following scripting languages: Shell, Perl, Bash, or Ruby.
> Experience in a lead role, mentoring multiple junior analysts on approach and results.
