NVIDIA and Reliance Industries Partner to Build AI Supercomputers in India 🇮🇳

NVIDIA and Reliance Industries have announced a collaboration to create AI supercomputers in India, surpassing the nation’s current computing capabilities significantly. NVIDIA will provide access to advanced technology, including the GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip and DGX Cloud for AI computing services. This partnership aims to develop India’s own large language model tailored for generative AI applications and serve its diverse linguistic landscape.

Reliance Jio Infocomm, a telecom arm of Reliance Industries, will leverage NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure to create AI applications for its 450 million customers and offer energy-efficient AI resources to Indian scientists, developers, and startups. The initiative seeks to enhance various sectors, from agriculture to healthcare and disaster management, using AI technology. Reliance plans to establish AI-ready computing data centers with a capacity of 2,000 MW, managed by Jio.

NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting India’s potential in AI. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, believes this collaboration will contribute to India’s digital progress and growth, similar to Jio’s impact on the nation’s digital landscape. Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, emphasized their commitment to democratizing access to cutting-edge technologies and advancing India’s position as an AI powerhouse.
